SYDNEY, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Morgan Stanley's Australian unit has poached a four-member team from rival Bank of America/Merrill Lynch to start coverage of small-cap Australian firms, a source briefed on the matter told Reuters on Thursday.
The team, consisting of Chris Nichol, David Evans, Michael Carmody and Shanaz Cassim, would join Morgan Stanley's institutional equities desk in Sydney, the source added.
Both Morgan Stanley and Bank of America/Merrill Lynch declined to comment.
The source declined to be identified as the changes have not been made public yet. (Reporting by Denny Thomas)
